รีวิวฟีเจอร์ใหม่ๆ ที่น่าสนใจใน System Center 2012 R2 Configuration Manager (ConfigMgr)

    

     มาดูกันครับว่ามีฟีเจอร์อะไรใหม่ที่น่าสนใจใน System Center 2012 R2 Configuration Manager หรือ SCCM ซึ่งเป็นชื่อที่เราคุ้นเคยกัน

1.  Supported Windows Server 2012 R2 และ Windows 8.1

2.  สามารถทำการ Re-assign Site ด้วย Reassign Site Feature ในกรณีที่มีหลายๆ Sites

3.  สามารถ Upgrade มาเป็น System Center 2012 R2 Configuration Manager ต้อง Upgrade จาก System Center 2012 SP1 กับ Windows ADK 8.1 เท่านั้น

4.  มีการเพิ่ม 2 Software Updates Templates สำหรับ Patch Tuesday และ Definition Updates

5.  Task Sequences  มีหลายๆ อย่างถูกเพิ่มเติมเข้ามาใน  Task Sequences ของ System Center 2012 R2 Configuration Manager ครับ  อย่างแรกเลยคือ มัน supported  Windows 8.1 และ Windows Server 2012 R2   ลำดับต่อมาคือ สามารถทำการ Deploy Virtual Hard Disk (VHD) จาก  System Center 2012 R2 Configuration Manager Console   โดยผู้ดูแลระบบสามารถสร้าง VHD จาก Task Sequence โดยที่ไม่ต้องทำ Image Disk

 

 

6.  PowerShell supported ใน Task Sequence โดยเป็น Option ที่เพิ่มเติมเข้ามา เหมือนกับ Run Command Line Option ใน SCCM เวอร์ชั่นก่อนๆ 

 

 

7.  Content Management เป็นส่วนที่เกี่ยวข้องกับ Distribution Point  โดยใน System Center 2012 R2 Configuration Manager เราสามารถที่จะทำการ Cancel หรือยกเลิกกระบวนการ Distribution ข้อมูลที่ส่งไปยัง Distribution Point ในขณะที่ทำงานอยู่ได้ ในกรณีที่เราอาจมีการกำหนดค่าผิดไป  นอกจากนี้แล้วยังสามารถกำหนด Priority ให้กับ Distribution Points  ซึ่งทำให้เวลาที่เครื่องของผู้ใช้งานที่ต้องการติดต่อกับ Distribution Point,  System Center 2012 R2 Configuration Manager จะให้เครื่องของผู้ใช้งานเครื่องนั้นๆ  ติดต่อกับ Distribution Point เครื่องที่มี Priority ต่ำที่สุดก่อน  และนอกจากนี้แล้วยังมี Built-In Reports สำหรับการใช้งาน Distribution Point มาให้ด้วยครับ

8.  Integrated กับ Windows Intune เพื่อเพิ่มเติมความสามารถในการจัดการ Users และ Devices ต่างๆ โดยมีชื่อเรียกสำหรับการ Integration นี้ว่า “Unified Modern Device Management”

จากการ Integration นี้ทำให้มีฟีเจอรืในการจัดการ Mobile Devices ต่างๆ  ได้มากขึ้น  เช่น

-  ทำการ Enrollment IOS และ Andriod ผ่านทาง Native App ซึ่งสามารถทำการ Download ได้จาก Apple Store

    หรือ   Google Play Store

-  Supported Andriod (2.1 ขึ้นไป) และ Windows 8.1 (x86/x64 และ RT)

-  ทำ Company Branding สำหรับ Company Portals

-  สามารถทำการ Push และ Uninstall Applications ได้

-  สามารถทำการแสดง Devices เหล่านี้ใน System Center 2012 R2 Configuration Manager Console

นอกจากนี้แล้วยังมีฟีเจอร์ต่างๆ อีกมากมาย เช่น

Device Ownership

เป็น Attribute ที่เราสามารถกำหนดว่า Devices นี้เป็นของส่วนตัวหรือของบริษัท  ซึ่งจะมีผลในการทำ Inventory  เช่น  ถ้าเป็น Device ของบริษัทจะมีรายละเอียดข้อมูลต่าง ๆ  ไม่ว่าจะเป็น Hardware และ Software ละเอียดมาก  แต่ถ้าเป็น Device ที่กำหนดว่าเป็นส่วนตัวก็จะแสดงเฉพาะ Software ที่ถูกติดตั้งว่ามีอะไรบ้าง เป็นต้น

Mobile Device Settings ใน System Center 2012 R2 Configuration Manager มีรายละเอียดตามรูปด้านล่าง

Remote Access Configuration

System Center 2012 R2 Configuration Manager supported การกำหนดค่าในส่วนของ Network Profiles ต่างๆ  เช่น VPN Profiles, WiFi Profiles และ Certificates ให้กับ Windows 8.1, Windows 8.1 RT, iOS และ Android ดีไวซ์  นอกจากนี้แล้ว System Center 2012 R2 Configuration Manager ยัง supported Windows 8.1 Automatic VPN ด้วย

Full & Selective Wipe

System Center 2012 R2 Configuration Manager สามารถให้เราทำการ Completely หรือ Full Wipe ดีไวซ์ของคุณ หรือทำ Selective Wipe รายละเอียดสามารถดูได้จากรูปด้านล่างครับ
